NEW: Piano Group Lessons for Beginners. Age: 4 plus. Only 6 students per group maximum. This class offers exploration of key-board, basic improvisation technique, elementary sight-reading and music theory to the youngest of our students. This is a great opportunity to introduce your little ones to piano lessons in a small-group setting. Unlike one-on-one lessons which require high concentration throughout the entire period, this class allows your child to benefit from personalized instruction in a stress-free and fun way.
Music in Me for 1-3 year-olds, is a 60 min class, where toddlers will experience music together with a parent or caregiver. Music is explored through songs, rhythms, chants, story-telling and games. Children will experience the joy of artistic self-expression through activities. This class offers parents a wonderful opportunity to introduce their child to the magical world of music in the environment that encourages social interaction.
Double Treat for 3-4 year-olds is a 60 min. class where children will be introduced to fundamentals of music (30 min), combining it with art and craft activities (30 min). Children will experience the joy of artistic expression. The music session will help children develop a sense of rhythm and intonation. The art session begins with a story, which is transformed into an art project.
Creative Kindergarten for 5-6 year-olds, is a 60-min. class where children will experience lots of fun ways to learn about music and movement. Children will have a great time engaging in music, songs, movements and games. This program is designed to give a head start to individual instruction.
Do-Re-Mi offers basic music concepts in a 60 min class. It introduces students of 6-8 years of age to the language of music by teaching them how to write, read and hear music. This class offers instruction of basic musical concepts such as the fundamentals of music reading, singing, ear-training, sight-reading, improvisation, transposition and basic introduction to keyboard. In this class children will try to compose songs, sing them and conduct them, which will help to develop coordination between voice, ear and body motion. Class can be taken prior or parallel to individual instruction.
Singing for Young Children offers lots of singing in this 60 min class for children of 5-7 years old, where students will have a chance to explore their voices. This program offers instruction in proper vocal technique, sight singing, solfege and movements.
Suzuki String Program, 3 years old through adult, this course is designed for children or adults to learn to play the violin in a positive and nurturing environment. Each student will have an individual lesson once a week and will participate in a monthly group lesson. Students are taught the elements of string playing through musical games, individual and group instruction. We offer listening skills, concentration, memorization, posture, rhythm and tone production. Child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during class time.
Piano Explorations, a 60 min class for 6-12 year-old children with a maximum of six students per group, where children are introduced to the fundamentals of music mainly through exploring the keyboard.
Music Theory (Solfege), 60 min., a class for ages 8 to adult. Learn the science behind the music in this music theory class. Find out how music is composed, the make up of chords, how they relate to each other and much more.
Piano Ensemble, a 60 min. class for all ages and levels. It is a great way to play piano and have fun at the same time. You will experience a wonderful opportunity playing music from the renaissance to classical and even jazz, through duets or even quartets, as well as piano with other instruments. A concert performance will conclude this great event.
Vocal Ensemble, 60 min class for 13-16 year-old children and separate class for adults. This class is for you if you love to sing but dare not to sing solo. We will teach you how to open up your voice and sing with freedom and self-confidence. You will explore the vocal music of all styles from Bach and Mozart to Broadway. No prior experience required, just your passion and desire to sing. We will teach you how and give you the confidence!
Children’s Choir is for all ages and levels from elementary to high school students. Children will be grouped in age level classes, designed to strengthen musical skills. This program offers instruction in proper vocal technique, sight singing, and solfege. Older age group students will work on developing independent singing skills in 2 and 3-part harmony. Each choir will perform a wide variety of high quality vocal literature and will receive regular training in vocal development and musicianship.
Completion of Do-Re-Mi class for young children prior to children’s chorus is recommended.
In the spring of 2009 our Academy decided to expand its curriculum to include Fine Arts and Theatre studios. This year we are planning to add Circus Arts School and Early Baby and Children’s Massage. Apart from being singular and unique in their field, these classes are extraordinary in its effect on physical and mental development of any given child. All of our programs are delivered by artists and educators working in their respective disciplines as musicians, visual artists and theatre makers. Beginner's Art Studio. Ages 3 to 6. In this studio we aim to satisfy our young ones' artistic cravings and to tickle their creativity buds. Children will embrace their own imagination and resourcefulness through abstract and decorative, imaginary and real. We will attempt still lives and landscapes, portraits and even figure drawings, working from imagination and life. Children will get the feel for color and texture, composition and proportion. An important objective of this class is to bring out the transient and ephemeral inner genius who lives in every child.
Youth, Teens and Adult Art Studio. Ages 7 plus. Taught by a professional practicing artist E.Gopin our Studio offers fundamentals in drawing and painting, collage and mixed media, to name a few. Students will embrace still lives and landscapes, portraits and figure drawings, working from imagination and life, using acrylic paint, watercolour, charcoal and much-much more!!! Colour, form, line, composition, and proportion, form, light and perspective – these are just a few of the many exciting skills the students will explore.
Theatre Studio. Are you looking for a challenging and enlightening theatre experience? Expand your theatre knowledge and skills through scene work, vocal and movement exercises, and improvisation. Create, learn and explore in a setting specially designed for children and adults to discover their own creative voice and imagination. Get ready to laugh, smile, tell stories, play music, dance and more in an environment that values creativity, culture and authenticity. This course is offered by actress Helena Stesin. Appropriate for all ages.
Circus Arts School. Our teacher Sergey Perepelitsky, a juggling coach in Canada’s most famous circus, will teach coordination, rhythm, imagination, logic, will-power, endurance and much-much more!
Massage for Babies and Children. Performed by a certified experienced masseuse. Recommended by pediatricians for general therapeutic and prophylactic purposes or in cases of muscular, tendons and ligaments weakness. Improves muscular tonus, normalizes and increases blood circulation and lymph flow. Gives a major boost to your child’s immune system, especially during fall and winter periods; fosters motor development in babies, aids in preventing rachitis etc.
